"Remi" Academy Award (a.k.a, Ella) is a 1999 Hanoverian Elite Mare originally bred by Cheryl O'Brien at Remi Stud in Austrailia. Her pedigree boasts a rare combination of the Hanoverian A-Line, D-Line, G-Line, W-Line and F-Line. After completing her Mare Performance Testing (MPT) in 2003 with an Overall Score of 7, she was registered with the Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia. After being imported to the US, she was registered with the American Hanoverian Society (AHS) in 2009.

Performance Highlights

During her performance career, Ella competed up to Third Level dressage and Level 3 Jumpers (Fences 3’6” in height; 3’6” to 4’0” in spread) before being retired as a broodmare.

I originally purchased Ella in 2013 with the intent of re-training her and working towards my USDF Bronze Medal. In 2014, we were schooling 2nd/3rd Level movements and showing 1st Level. We earned my first qualifying score at 1st Level for my USDF Bronze Medal.

In 2015, the decision was made to retire Ella from competition with enough time for her to produce some foals before she was no longer breeding sound. Ella foaled two additional colts in 2016 and 2018. She was left open in 2017. Ella takes the first time with Fresh. As a precaution, she was given Regumate for 2 weeks after being bred. This has been the only maintenance required for her last two foals.
